HIDDEN GEOMETRY IN BLADE RUNNER 2049 PHOTOGRAPHY
Abstract
This study examined the hidden geometry in the photography of Blade Runner 2049, an Oscar-winning film in cinematography. This study with an epistemological and historical hermeneutical approach used a qualitative method of a descriptive and relational nature and was based on critical theory. The content and composition of the files were explored. The instruments consisted of the superposition of different reinforcements, and they were measured from the root of the square and the size of the frame dimensions of the images. In the 1664 scanned frames, relationships with the variables of pictorial works were evaluated. Up to 15 elements of the visual design associated with the trusses were identified, among which stand out: the baroque diagonal, the abatement, the 90-degree angles, and the arabesques. This research provides evidence that Blade Runner 2049 adopts the occult geometry used by the Egyptians, ancient Greeks, and the Renaissance, among other artists.
