Get Free AccessThe position of the lithium in the title compound 1, which formally contains an α-sulfonyl carbanion, has been clarified by an X-ray structure analysis: In dimeric 1 the two Li atoms are each coordinated to two O atoms and two N atoms. Consistent with this finding, the CαS distance is extraordinarily short.
