Get Free AccessAggregation-induced emission (AIE) materials possessing unique properties in both the solution state and the aggregate state in the aspects of absorption, photoluminescence and heat generation have been well-established for wide applications in the past two decades. In recent years, several emerging applications of AIE materials in solar energy utilization, including luminescent solar concentrators, photosynthesis augmentation and solar steam generation have been reported. This mini-review provides a concise summary of these AIE materials in these aspects.
