Get Free AccessIn this paper, we proposed an all-optical sampling system. The ring-shaped mode-locked laser with quantum-dot semiconductor optical amplifier (QD-SOA) is the sampling pulse source of the system. The sampling module consists of a Nonlinear Optical Loop Mirror (NOLM) utilizing QD-SOA as the nonlinear element. Simulation results show that the high-frequency narrow Gaussian pulse of 40 GHz can optically sample the 4 GHz dual-frequency Gaussian pulse signal. The system has the advantages of fast sampling speed and high sampling accuracy.
