Share your first dataset on RDL Hub
Upload your raw data securely, pick an open license and share it for free in one click. This guide walks the open-data sharing flow end to end; a paid offering is optional.
Before you start
- An RDL account with the RESEARCHER role
- The data files to share (up to 100 MB per file)
- (Optional) payment/billing details if you want to offer it for a fee
Steps
- 1
Go to the sharing panel
After signing in to Hub, open the sharing panel. From here you manage data, licenses and your shares.
- 2
Upload raw data
Build your folder structure and upload files. Splitting large datasets into folders improves discoverability.
- 3
Pick an open license
Choose an open license like CC-BY (the default). Mint a DOI via a request for a persistent identifier and citation.
Tip: You always retain copyright; the license only defines how the data may be used. - 4
Share for free
Publish the listing as 'Share free'. Anyone can add it to their library in one click ('Claim free') — there is no cart or payment.
- 5
(Optional) offer it for a fee
If you wish, you can set a price and offer the data under a paid license. Free sharing is always the default and first-class.
Tip: Open sharing improves citations and visibility. - 6
Track downloads and citations
Track view, download and citation metrics from the sharing panel.
You're all set! 🎉
